Riley (aka Rapidash)

Born 2014, this lovely 16.2h Rosenthal grandson is very is personable, athletic, sound and focused, with correct conformation and LOADS of presence. He has incredibly smooth gaits making him a very easy ride while also having elegant, expressive movement. Riley is homebred and raised/trained by us here at Gracesporthorses Ranch.

He has been under-saddle for about 2 years now, has been started over fences under-saddle, and has never been lame (he has always been and still is barefoot without any issues). He spent 4 months at the UC Davis boarding barn, sharing the rings with the UCD Hunter/Jumper Intercollegiate and club teams, where he was exposed to up to 20 riders in the ring at a time taking group lessons and spirited horses galloped around him and jumped courses.

Since COVID-19 restrictions required relocating from UC Davis Equestrian Center, he was moved home to our breeding ranch in Winters. Then, for six weeks he went to be trained at Graceland Farm in Castro Valley where he got exposure and expereince in an incredibly busy eventing atmosphere (there was constant use of power washers, leaf blowers, the eurosizxer, bustling horses and trailers coming and going, etc.). Due to his charming personality and willing attitude, Riley became a barn favorite at Graceland.

Currently, he is doing walking hill work, gymnastic chute jumping, and working on training and first level dressage movements. In addition, we are slowly introducing him to the “schooling show” environment by taking him to available schooling shows in the area. Since his withers finally grew up this past summer, he is now balanced and developed enough for serious work.

Riley’s breeding reflects our goal of breeding sane, sound and talented horses to make your riding experience fun, while also being very competitive. He will make a phenomenal show horse and a special partner and potential best friend.

As he is only 6 years old and still a bit green, he is appropriate for a quiet-handed Amateur intermediate rider or a confident advanced-beginner working consistently under a trainer.
