Adelta

Adelta is a 16.3h reliable, fun and safe jumper with great sense of self preservation while jumping. She is appropriate for a quiet-handed Amateur intermediate rider or a confident advanced-beginner working under a trainer.  Being an OTTB, she goes best for a rider who rides with body and weight aids, rather than with heavy hands.  She has a forward, joyful spirit, and likes a partner who has the same.  She was trained by Heidi under supervision of Holly Fox, of Fox Farms, Inc.  She is currently teaching our para rider Josh the subtle art of riding with "body and weight aids."

She has competed in a one day Eventing trial, and shown in Open Jumpers.  She hauls well, and is well behaved on trails.  She  has reliable flying changes, has clinic experience, and has been ridden by two different riders as part of the UC Davis Hunter/Jumper team. She is brave, personable, athletic, smart, with no “maintenance issues” other than needing regular normal shoeing.  Her rider Heidi prefers to maintain Adelta on oral Altrenogest (Progesterone) during the breeding season, and to feed her no alfalfa hay (only "white" hay) no grain products, and keeps her weight up with soaked beet pulp mixed with rice bran.
